Groundbreaking Abortion Documentary
This has been all over the place today. Please keep praying for an end to abortion.
The following was received in an email from the Catholic Pro-Life Committee of North Texas
From The Justice Foundation:
As the city where Roe v. Wade was originally filed, Dallas has been selected as the first city in America for a mass showing of a special documentary about the effects of abortion on women and men. This documentary will air repeatedly around the 36th anniversary of Roe v. Wade.
"Beyond the Dark Valley" was co-produced by The Justice Foundation and Fresh Air Media. Fresh Air Media produced Billy Graham's television specials for many years and, most recently, the Saddleback Civil Forum on the Presidency. "Beyond the Dark Valley" educates viewers about the devastating effects of abortion. Viewers who have experienced the pain of abortion will be referred for spiritual hope and healing in the Dallas metroplex through the toll-free National Helpline for Abortion Recovery (866-482-LIFE). Working with the National Helpline, "Beyond the Dark Valley" also offers help for women who are in unexpected pregnancies by referring them to pregnancy care centers in their area.

Honestly, I can see both sides. Some pregnancies can be dangerous for the mother, which can put her life at risk. At the same time, ending a pregnancy early also kills the child. I don’t know if the mother’s life or the child’s life is more important. We really need to think about both sides and maybe find a middle ground.
Here is why we should be pro-choice: It is only for women that pregnancy may represent a health risk. It is only women’s career, which is put on hold, that pregnancy and the ensuing maternity leave affect. There are important questions to be debated, such as whether a pregnant woman in a significantly bad health condition should carry the unwanted pregnancy to term, or whether only healthy women in their child-bearing prime should anti-abortion legislation be targeted at.
The foremost reason I support the pro-choice is woman’s rightful desire for control their bodies. Pregnancy can cause significant risk and damage on woman’s health and career. Do you think that there should be a double standard for healthy women and women with significant health problems when it comes to the government interference against abortion? I don’t think anyone can make the important decision for anyone else but herself.
